Inspirational Thought: Sunday will be a big day for our church during the worship service. Not only is this Stewardship Sunday, but also we will be remembering those who entered the church triumphant. To build the bridge between both, one has to think about the legacy that the saints of God left to our church. How they endured long meetings to discuss implementing plans for the future, toiled with yard work, danced up the aisle joyfully while collecting the offering, and the hours spent with numerous fellowship opportunities. Through their efforts of time, talent, and tithe our church is much stronger. When we hear stories of these past faithful members we can get a better picture on how our church took shape. My hope is that this will encourage us to continue to run with perseverance the race marked out for us. In this way, we bring our stewardship of giving to align with past, present, and future ministries for our congregation. We relish the rich traditions of the past, but we have learned that the way forward is constantly looking to the future. May this truly be a service of thanksgiving for our departed loved ones. They were good and kind and faithful. May their lesson of giving encourage us to be Christ’s faithful disciples.

Also, starting this Sunday, we will have an orchestra playing during the hymns and special music. Our hope is that this will be an ongoing activity. If you would like to participate, please meet at the church tonight at 7:30p.

Have a most blessed week,

Pastor Dan

Prayer of the Week: Lord God, we give you thanks for those who have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. May their example of living encourage us to find our voice on how to live in the world of today. Every age has its challenges, but people of faith overcome them with partnering with Jesus Christ, your Son, our savior. Help us to hold onto the master’s hand and walk this side of eternity with faith that will give us clear sight to do justice, love kindness, and always humbly walking with you. Amen.

2019 Fall Stewardship Campaign

Being a Blessing

Fall is an exciting time in the life of our church. Not only are we beginning our fall routines with Bible studies, church school, and fellowship opportunities, we also begin to think about our church’s 2020 annual budget.

Here are some of the ways that our congregation is a blessing:

~ Worship Services

~ Music Program

~ Church Staff

~ Buildings & Grounds Maintenance

~ Christian Education for Children and Adults

~ Missions

~ Community Involvement

~ Church Administration and Leadership Development

~ Encouraging, Nurturing and Supporting Each Other

~ Being a Family of God

~ What Blessings Can You Add: __________________________

Prayerfully consider how you will be a blessing in 2020, as we strive to be the best stewards that God calls us to be. On Sunday, November 3, 2019 we will be recognizing our Stewardship pledges for the coming year. Each Sunday there will be a moment for stewardship in our service.

This is the time in our Congregation’s life when we are asked to make a financial commitment for the coming year. These difficult times are affecting everyone. With prayerful thought, we need to make an effort to be as generous as possible. Let’s make an endeavor to increase our pledges this year in order to continue the good work of the Presbyterian Church of Livingston.

Stewardship

Together, in faith, we can meet our goal of $111,000. Please return your pledge card on or before Stewardship Sunday, November 3, 2019.

God Bless You All!!
